Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as Director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She is widely credited with starting the modern investigation of the scientific study of children's eyeswitness memories and the role of child victims as witnesses in legal settings. Professor Goodman regularly publishes her work and has been awarded several grants, and has been awarded numerous International and national awards. She has consulted with numerous authorities and organizations across the world on policies and studies on child victims in the legal system. She works as an expert consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She has been a member of several professional associations, which include that of Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions of Experimental Psychology, Developmental Psychology Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) Additionally, she is a founding participant of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was President of the American Psychological Association's three divisions: Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Children and Families Policy and Practice.
